CCHS Facts
Central Catholic High School is proud of the many student accomplishments, especially in the 18,000 hours of Christian Service performed in the community. It is hard to believe they could squeeze all of this into their busy schedules, but they did…and they did it well. We are very proud of them. Last year we offered our students every opportunity to display their talents.
WE held three creative art productions which include music, drama and dance.
WE sent several students to leadership workshops
WE hosted two community blood drives
WE took top honors in an array of academic competitions include Science Olympiad, Academic Decathlon and National Forensics League local and regional speech tournaments.
WE won 12 varsity and frosh/soph athletic championships
WE are exceedingly proud of our students who earned 446 college units through our College Academy which includes partnerships with Modesto Junior College, CSU Stanislaus and College Board’s Advanced Placement Program (AP).
WE had 66% of our students earn first and second academic honors.
WE salute the Class of 2009 who were offered over $5 million in college scholarships
- Fifty-three students earned a three or better on last year’s Advanced Placement (AP) exams. This potentially translates into another 159 college units (units are determined by individual colleges).
- Our SAT scores are consistently higher than local, state and national averages. Last year’s scores were no exception. CCHS seniors scored an average of 1537 compared to the national average of 1509 and the California average of 1500. However, if we segregate our top 40% (which is the average percentage of seniors nationwide who take the SAT exam) our scores rise to an incredible 1771.
- Last year our Science Olympiad Team garnered first place in the regional competition and picked up over 20 medals. This year the team took second place with a total of 15 medals
- 97% of the seniors went on to college.
- The graduating class of 2009 earned $5 million in college scholarship offers.
- CCHS students donated 18,000 hours of Christian Service to our community, helping over 76 charities in four counties.
