We say that Central Catholic High School graduates are Spiritually Developed, Academically Prepared, Socially Responsible Leaders and Globally Conscious Citizens. Craig Jones, a current senior, was recognized for all this and more last week when he was awarded the second Association of Fundraising Professional’s Youth in Philanthropy Award before an audience of 250 Rotarians and AFP members. Craig, who has a 4.6 grade point average and is a first line running back on the Raiders football team, received the award for his Christian service – to the Society for the Handicapped, the Modesto Gospel Mission, his church, and the Haven, among others. His works have been creative – he inventoried supplies at the Society, wrote a computer program to track them, did all the data entry and then raised enough money to buy eight wheelchairs for patients – and extensive. He is a leader on campus (as ASB vice president) and off.
The award was presented to Craig by Ali Pascal, ’09, who received the very first Youth in Philanthropy Award in Stanislaus County.
