CCHS Tutoring Class

CCHS graduate Mary Aiello, ’09, tutored Tommy Rossini at St. Joseph’s Church over the Christmas break. Other CCHS students involved in the tutoring classes included Michael Phillips, ’09, Christian Menezes, ’09, Matt Rios, ’09, and Jacey Menezes, ’03.

Adopt A Family

Volleyball team members help Mr. Staley load up his truck with gifts for a family from Orville Wright School. CCHS students adopted a number of families from Orville Wright, assuring a happy Christmas for them, with clothes, toys, Christmas trees and food for a holiday meal.

Raiders 45 - Summerville 21

The Central Catholic Raiders certainly had the right stuff last Friday night - they defeated Summerville 45-21. This week they move on to the next round in the playoffs and will face the undefeated Modesto Christian Crusaders at MC.

CC Graduate Returns to Share his Experiences at West Point

Ryan Brady, ’06, is finishing his final year at the United States Military Academy, West Point. As part of his training, Ryan spent an afternoon at CCHS talking to students who are interested in attending West Point after graduation. Principal Melissa Bengtson joined several them in welcoming Ryan back to the CC campus.

8th Graders Rocked the CC Campus

Approximately 290 8th graders converged on the CCHS campus on November 18. Their CC ambassadors hosted a special rally, conducted personal tours of the campus, shared time in the classrooms and treated them to a pizza lunch and lunchtime dance.

Varsity Football Playoffs

The Central Catholic Varsity Football team is gearing up for the second round of playoffs this Friday at our own David Patton Stadium.

Thanksgiving Canned Food Drive

CCHS students are in the midst of a Thanksgiving canned food drive; canned goods will be delivered to several charities in the area, including The Redwood Center. Mrs. Dillon's homeroom has collected more than 420 cans - just some of which are shown here by some enthusiastic seniors.

Small Schools Football Player of the Week

On November 12th, the Modesto Bee named CCHS quarterback Dylan Swartz as Small Schools Football Player of the Week. Dylan had amassed 1639 passing yards and 23 touchdowns for the season, with a very impressive 24-4 career record — so far.

2009 NCTE Leadership Development Award

CCHS English teacher, Trevor Guina, is one of three teachers in the Western United States to receive the prestigious 2009 NCTE (National Council of Teachers of English) Region 8 Leadership Development Award.
