Welcome to the exciting world of English Language Arts! I am pleased to welcome all CC Raiders and their families to this site, especially the Class of 2011. Please visit my other website, One-Stop Dillon Shop, which is linked to this page. The One-Stop Dillon Shop features my blog, a class calendar, MLA format information, and the always intriguing literary discussion forum. Byron Lutz (’10) and Phil Crumm (’11) designed the page, anticipating students’ needs. They did an excellent job.

This year I am working with students in English IV, CP, and English IV, AP. For the past 28 years, I have been blessed to minister in Catholic education, working with young men and women as we study the beauty and challenges of the English language as expressed in a variety of genres. My passion for reading started when my father would take me to the local book store in Jackson Heights, New York, early Saturday mornings, where I was permitted to pick out a book to bring home. My love for literature continued all the way to St. John's University, Jamaica, New York, where I was conferred with a B.S. in Communications in 1980. I was also given a graduate assistantship to the SJU English Department (go Redmen!) where my studies emphasized medieval literature.

I am pleased to share my 28th year of teaching with the Class of 2011 and welcome the Class of 2014. My work as an instructor in English language arts has been very rewarding and, as department chair, I see the fruits of our vertical teaming. May God bless us all!
