Suzi Guina

Email Teacher Classroom Files Welcome to English I, Honors!

My name is Mrs. Guina and I am the freshman Honors English teacher here at Central Catholic High School. Please see my syllabus for detailed information on my classes, including the books we read and types of assignments we do. If you would like to contact me with questions or comments, feel free to send me an email.

Please visit our unique English department website, One-Stop Dillon Shop, for a wealth of resources for Language Arts. Though the website was primarily designed for the senior class, you will find helpful information for any English student, including requirements and templates for Modern Language Association (MLA) formatting and information and links to turnitin.com.

If you are a current student looking for assignment dates, study guides, and similar information, please log on to your NetRaider account and look for our class, or check our classroom calendar.

About Me: I have been teaching at Central since 2006. I came to Central Catholic from Modesto Junior College, where I was an adjunct instructor for two years. I taught English 50, English 101 (both of which are primarily composition courses), and English 169: Children’s Literature, which I also taught at Holy Names University. This year, I will also be back at MJC concurrently with Central.

I have my Master of Arts degree in English Literature from San Francisco State University and my Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Holy Names University. Though I pursued my higher education in the Bay Area, I was born and raised in Turlock and graduated Valedictorian of my class at Turlock High School.
