Hello my name is Tanya Velazquez, Theology department chair for the third year. I started working at CCHS as the Campus Minister in March 1999 and began teaching religion in 2001. I am now a full time Theology teacher. I enjoy teaching the Catholic Faith since it is my passion to share with each student: JESUS CHRIST!
My personal life: I was married at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in 2001 to Jaime Velazquez. We are blessed to have 3 children: Diego - 8 yrs old, Xavier - 6 yrs old and Pricilla - 3 yrs old. We currently live in Hughson and attent St. Anthony's Catholic Parish weekly. I am very involved at the parish level; I teach pre- baptismal classes, Lead a womans Bible Study, lector at Mass along with eucharistic Minister, and organize Catholic Vacation Bible school every summer for the community. Some of our family hobbies are camping and boating at the Lake! We are blessed and I Thank God for His LOVE! I wish to share GOD with my students through the following courses.
Theology Course: This year I will be teaching 9th graders 4 courses of "Catholic Faith" in the 1st semester and "Our Sacramental Life" in the 2nd semester. I will also teach 11th graders one course of "Church History" in the 1st semester and "World Religions" in the 2nd semester.
I am here to serve each family with regards to learning the Catholic Faith and about Our Lord Jesus Christ. Please feel free to call the school or email me with any questions or concerns.
