Theology Department Purpose- to support the CCHS Mission statement of "Living out the Gospel of Jesus Christ in our daily lives."

We support our ESLRs (Expected Student Learning Results)

1. "Globally conscious" students who financially sponsor 17 children (one sponsored child for each religion course) overseas through the "Christian Foundation of Children & Aging" (CFCA), a Catholic affiliated organization.

2. "Academically prepared" students with high levels of learning through service and hands on projects, through the Catechism of the Catholic Church & other Catholic document essays, note taking with power point presentations and thought-provoking journal writings.

3. "Spiritually developed" students who pray daily, participate in advent and Lenten prayer services (penance services twice a year), attend class Masses, learn Catholic devotional prayers like the Rosary, Chaplet of Divine Mercy, and experience Adoration before the Blessed Sacrament of Jesus Christ.

4. "Socially Responsible" citizens by advocating for the rights of the poor and innocent, deeply studied in the social justice courses. Also through "Project Light" - core service hours to the community by acting on the "Corporal Works of Mercy".

We also lead a department "five-hour" core service project called Project Light - which serves a loving purpose to be the hands, feet and voice of Jesus Christ in the community.

Our department also actively support Campus Ministry events: class retreats, canned food drive, Adopt a family, Catholic Schools Week, School Wide Masses and Christian Service Programs.

Our Theology department is a core element of Catholic Education: it is one of the many things which set us apart from public education. We are blessed to be able to teach and live out the message of "Love" of our Lord Jesus Christ to our students. We can pray daily and can freely believe in GOD without outside distractions.

Each Theology teacher is passionate about her Catholic faith and accepts each student where he/she is in this walk of faith regardless of religion or belief held. We only want the best for our students and wish to create a "love for learning about God" through the study of GOD.

"WE are ONE family with many gifts". May we use our gifts to glorify God always! May God Bless every CCHS family - We are at your service!
