Help for Haiti

Last February, Sophia Payan,’05, celebrated the grand opening of her new dance studio. The Modesto dance studio is located at 711 10th Street, Modesto, California. Sophia used this opportunity to raise money for Haiti. She became involved in the Global Orphan Project. Sophia and a friend will spend a week in Haiti to donate suitcases filled with shoes and clothes. Sophia will be spending time with the Haitian children playing games and other activities.

Sophia decided to establish the studio after graduating last summer from the New York Conservatory of Dramatic Arts. Sophia states “that her journey of dance developed while attending CCHS. Sophia attended the Washington Academy of Performing Arts before transferring to the New York school; she previously danced with the Stockton Ballet Academy and was on our CCHS cheer team. Sophia states “I will always have fond memories of my years at Central”.
