Currently 2 and 0 in league play, the CCHS Boys' Basketball team also was victorious on the road during the Christmas holidays. They swept the Coronado tournament, 5-0. To see more on the team, click here.
Stanford University Football Recruiting Program
Junior John Mundt, son of Cathy Hendley Mundt, '86, and senior Craig Jones were recently guests of the Stanford University Football Recruiting Program. They were given a tour of the school, met with Stanford's strength trainer, and stood on the sidelines with the Stanford team during pregame warm ups for the game against the University of Oregon.
Congratulations Lady Raiders Golf!
Congratulations to the Lady Raiders Golf Team! They went 12-0 in league this fall and are now are 84-0 in league covering six full seasons. Joanna Nguyen has been selected MVP of the Western Athletic Conference. Other CC team members earning all league spots include Katherine Dunn, Emily Raspo, Courtney Kim and Tori Abate. The Lady Raiders now go on the Division IV playoffs this Monday at Lockeford Springs.

Navy Seals Trident Challenge
CCHS parent and Water polo coach Buddy Wesson headed up the CCHS team competing in the first Navy Seals Trident Challenge for high schools, held at the Naval Base in San Diego in late April. The CC team (L-R) Coach Wesson, senior Nic Potts, junior Walter Wesson, graduate Dalton Webster and sophomore Jacob Alviso, took third place in the overall endurance challenge. Junior Ray Lomas, flanked by Athletic Director Matt Yonker and CCHS Principal Melissa Bengtson, right, before he headed to Bakersfield for the State Wrestling Championship. Ray will compete in the 145 weight division on March 6. Mr. Yonker will accompany the team to Bakersfield.

Katelyn Ketchum was surrounded by her CC teammates when she signed her official Letter of Intent play soccer for California State University, Chico, on February 15. A reception for her friends and family was hosted in the lobby of Central Catholic.

Fall Sport WAC Champions
Fall Sport WAC Champions: Congratulations to the Girls Varsity Golf and Girls Varsity Volleyball teams on winning Western Athletic Conference League titles during the fall season. Both teams went undefeated during the course of their league schedule.
CCHS Basketball Season Opens
The Central Catholic boys and girls basketball programs open up their seasons this weekend with preseason tournaments. The boys JV and Varsity will be competing in the Modesto City Tournament held by the Modesto City Schools and the girls JV and Varsity will be competing in the Escalon tournament.
