The Art Club promotes the Fine Arts on Campus. Our aim is to explore new creations with art, learn and teach new art to other members, appreciate art by visiting local and out of town art galleries, and visiting art colleges. It's a way to create and promote student's talents around CCHS and in the community. Through field trips we introduce the students to the wider world of art and hope to instill the love of art in them. Recent field trips have included the Picasso Exhibit at the DeYoung Museum and last year the VanGogh at the same museum.
Meetings: Student art is shown in the Kristi Phippen Gallery throughout the year; there is an End of the Year Art Show and reception in the Gallery and another at the Gallo Center for the Arts during the Winter Fine Arts Production. CCHS art students host workshops for elementary and junior high students on campus and sometimes visit their schools too. For Central Catholic's Open houses, we create pumpkins for the decorating contest, and do face painting and crafts with the children. The students enter their artwork in to the Young Masters Art Show at the Mistlin Gallery every January. Then we take an Art gallery tour around Modesto, have a workshop with a local artist, and see the Masters Show.
