Central Catholic FFA Honors State Degree Recipients, Star Advisor, and State Proficiency Finalist

On Tuesday, March 13th FFA members gathered in Stockton at Atherton Theatre to recognize 8 Central Catholic students who received their California FFA State Degree, which is the highest honor that a state association can bestow on its members.
On Tuesday, March 13th FFA members gathered in Stockton at Atherton Theatre to recognize 8 Central Catholic students who received their California FFA State Degree, which is the highest honor that a state association can bestow on its members. Qualifications for the State FFA Degree include: 
  • 3 years of Agriculture Education courses.
  • 3 years of active FFA membership.
  • a quality Supervised Agriculture Experience based project where they earned a minimum profit of $1,000 and have worked 500 hours.
The California State FFA Degree is awarded to approximately 3% of the state’s total enrollment. Central Catholic’s recipients included:
Jeanette Gomes – Sheep Entrepreneurship and Paid Ag Placement at Tim Gomes Ranch.
Devyn Halvorson – Sheep Entrepreneurship and Paid Ag Placement at Ott Farms.
Allison Jensen - Meat Goat Entrepreneurship and Paid Ag Placement at Patterson Nut Company.
Josephine Henderson – Dairy Entrepreneurship  and Paid Ag Placement at Ott Farms.
Bobby Machado –Paid Ag Placement at Bob Machado Farms.
Daniel Maring – Paid Ag Placement at Del Mar Farms, 
Ben Shinkwin – Paid Ag Placement at Jesse’s Grove Vineyards.
Gianna Van Klaveren – Beef Entrepreneurship and Dairy Cattle Entrepreneurship. 

In addition to our State Degree recipients, Mrs. Nicole Morris was awarded the STAR Regional FFA Advisor award. Mrs. Morris will be representing the Central Region and compete for the Star State FFA Advisor this coming April in Anaheim. 

Ambria Schneringer is our first ever Regional Proficiency Winner in the area of Ag Sales. She is one of 3 state qualifiers in this specific area and will interview while in Anaheim for a chance to be the State Winner. If chosen as the state proficiency winner – Ambria would represent Central Catholic In October at the National FFA convention in Indianapolis. 

Finally, Dave & Gina Van Klaveren were recognized as Hometown Heroes and Central Catholic FFA received the National FFA Chapter Premiere Award.
