Josephine Henderson will represent Central Catholic at the California State FFA Speaking Finals in April

Josephine Henderson was chosen as a finalist and after the second round of interviews was awarded 4th place. Josephine will be representing Central Catholic High School on April 19th in Fresno.
There were 120 students at Modesto Junior College on Friday, March 16th competing for one of the 20 top spots to represent their FFA chapters at the California State FFA Speaking Finals this April. Central Catholic was well represented with 6 students competing in 4 different areas:
Molly Cambra – Creed Recitation
Samantha Finnegan & Bailey Scheuber – Impromptu Speaking
Elisabeth Watkins – Prepared Public Speaking
Josephine Henderson & Ambria Schneringer  - Job Interview

The day started with the first round of semi-finals at 9:00am. There are 24 students competeing in each area, and only the top 8 would be invited to the finals round to determine the top 4 finalists. Bailey Scheuber made it on to the finals round in her area of Impromptu Speaking, but did not make the finalist list to move on. Josephine Henderson was chosen as a finalist and after the second round of interviews was awarded 4th place. Josephine will be representing Central Catholic High School on April 19th in Fresno. She will be competing among the top 24 job interview students in the state.

This is the 4th year in a row that we have been represented at the California FFA State Speaking Finals. David Phillips (Class 2017) made the trip 3 years in a row and finally won 2nd in the state last year for Prepared Public Speaking. Elisabeth Watkins has been to the finals twice in two different contests and Alyssa McPhee was there last year for Job Interview. WE are very proud of all our students and are excited for Josephine to continue her journey to state.
