CC Student Exchange to the Harkness Institute in Mexico

Audra Castello
Central Catholic High School students Seth Hernandez, Minaya Olivo and Sarah Grimes along with one of our Spanish teachers, Miss Castello, traveled to the Harkness Institute in Puerto Vallarta, Nayarit, Mexico for two weeks in February.
CC students each lived with different Mexican families and did everything that the Harkness students did in the classroom and outside. These students experienced a different culture completely. They spoke in Spanish to the best of their abilities, participated in advanced classroom discussions and represented their families and school brilliantly. These students not only picked up some more Spanish, but learned real world experience by immersing themselves in a completely different way of life.
